Bio

Maryam Tavakkoli is a doctoral student in French Studies at the University of California, Davis, and holds a teaching assistantship within the department. With over a decade of professional experience in literature, her research centers on French and Francophone literary studies, with a primary focus on spatial theory, geocriticism, ecocriticism, ecopoetics, and trauma studies. Her current academic work explores the intersections of space, slow violence, and environmental degradation in twentieth- and twenty-first-century narratives.
