Congratulations to Professor Emerita Margherita Heyer-Caput, who has been bestowed with the highest cultural recognition offered by the Italian government. Professor Heyer-Caput was awarded the honorary title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia by the President of Italy at a ceremony conducted by the Consul General in San Francisco at the end of spring quarter. This is a high recognition of her essential contributions to scholarship and to diffusing knowledge about Italian language and culture.
