Julianne Franceschi

I majored in Italian for the sheer love of language and to reconnect with my Italian heritage and family in Italy. I had always wanted to teach, and when a full time Italian teaching position opened up at South San Francisco High School I jumped at the chance. I had plenty of experience from being an Italian Tutor, the Italian Peer Advisor and completing an internship teaching at the Sacramento Italian Cultural Society my senior year.

One of the most inspiring moments of my experience at UC Davis was studying abroad at the University of Trento. It was an amazing experience to completely immerse myself into university life and use the Italian that I had learned in Davis with Italian students, in professors' office hours, at home with my roommates, and out with Italian friends.
