Italian Language and Culture Program

Ciao! The 16 week Quarter Abroad Italian Language and Culture Program takes place in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy! In Florence, you will take accelerated language courses, Italian film and culture courses, and are free to explore electives such as studio art, art history, food science, and more! The Italian Language and Culture program offers experiential learning where many of your courses will be taught outside experiencing the beautiful city of Florence and surrounding areas in Tuscany! Quarter Abroad partners with CEA, an organization well-known for its high quality study abroad programs in Italy, for in-country coordination of housing and language instruction.

Summer Abroad 2011

Italian Culture and Institutions (Rome, Italy)
June 19, 2011 - July 16, 2011
Courses: Italian 107S and 198

Through lecture, discussion, and field trips, we will explore Italian civilization and culture. The emphasis of the course
will be on Italian culture, art, and history, especially the Roman contributions to these fields. Rome, the "Eternal City," will
be the classroom for study in this hands-on cultural and educational experience. The course also includes a two-night field trip to
the Amalfi coast, where students will visit Pompeii and other sites near the Amalfi Coast. Taught in English.
